I've always loved the term, and still think it would be a great band name. Sort of baroque, french hardcore.. Serge Ginsberg meets Big Star meets Bach on harpsichord, y'know?

Thanks for introducing me to a new meaning for excelsior - "softwood shavings used for packing fragile goods or stuffing furniture".
I've always loved the metal work equivalent 'swarf' but never knew that there was such a poetic term for the wooden version.

Perhaps I should try some whale blubber in them next time. Add 1/2 cup spermaceti rendered for an original flavor.
